Tips and hacks are something I am pretty sure we all use in our daily life. I love coming across someone's genius tip that saves me some time and makes whatever chore or activity I am doing a little easier.

I am so often amazed at the tips I come across on a daily basis and most often I do the "why the hell didn't I think of that!!?". I decided to share a few hacks that I have used and some I am dying to try.

  • When you want to spice up your chili add a teaspoon of chili powder or cocoa
  • To stop oil from splattering put a pinch of cinnamon in the oil before adding whatever you are frying.
  • Put eggs in a cup of water to check freshness. If will sink if it's fresh and if it's not fresh it will float.
  • To stop boiling water from boiling over, put a wooden spoon across the pot
  • Freeze wine in ice cube trays for easy use in cooking
  • Free soft cheese for 15 minutes before use, makes it easier to shred or cut.
  • Spray inside of measuring cups before measures sticky substances like honey
  • Clean a grater by grating a raw potato

  • Clean your blender with a few drops of dish soap and warm water. Run it for a few seconds and wash.
  • Clean the bacteria off your sponge by putting in microwave for 30 seconds or just pop it into the dishwasher
  • Use a slice of bread over broken pieces of glass to pick it up.
  • Put an old sock over your hand spritz with some water and clean blinds quickly
  • A small drop of baby oil on a soft cloth with polish and shine your bathroom taps right up.
  • Baking soda inside running shoes will rid them of the stink
  • Bring sterling silver back to its original shine with toothpaste. Rub clean with a soft cloth.
  • Ketchup will make copper pots shine and gleam like new.
  • Damp rubber gloves (you know those gorgeous yellow ones) will grab pet fur off couches. Slide your hand across scooping up loose pet hair.

Uses for Dryer Sheets
Dryer sheets are one of those products that can be used to do much more than keep our clothes smelling amazing and static free.

  • Freshen your home by placing in vents
  • Inside shoes overnight to rid them of stink
  • Dust electronics
  • In glove box or under seat to keep car smelling amazing
  • Before packing seasonal clothes away add 2 sheets in
  • Get sand off the bottom of feet at the beach with one swipe
  • Great insect repellent. Take a sheet with you on hikes
  • Polish eye glasses to a shine (not plastic lens)
  • Put one in your Gym bag as a deodorizer
  • Put inside dresser drawers to keep clothing smelling fresh
  • Unruly frizzy hair. One swipe over the problem area will keep that hair flat and calm
  • Perfect for starting a camp fire while camping and smells amazing too!
  • Stuffed inside the toilet paper roll to make the bathroom smell fresh
  • Almost all household dusting can be done with a dryer sheet
