Facebook Now Punishes For Sharing

Hey Guys!

I just want to share some very important information about sharing contests and promotions on your personal profile. You really need to pay attention to this post if you value your Facebook account and personal profile.

If you follow a page on Facebook that's asks you to "SHARE to Get " or "LIKE to Win" this post on almost every post...UNLIKE them! You can still see the things they post, you don't need to be a follower or fan to see the information they are posting. A page that is asking you to "like" or "Share" a contest or promotion, or tag a friend on almost all their posts, could be endangering your Facebook account!

Here is why and how.....

Facebook has Promotional Guidelines  that are very clear.
Promotions may be administered on Pages or within apps on Facebook. Personal Timelines and friend connections must not be used to administer promotions (ex: “share on your Timeline to enter” or “share on your friend’s Timeline to get additional entries”, and “tag your friends in this post to enter” are not permitted).
Most pages break this rule and it affects your personal account now more than ever.

If you share these posts to your personal profile (in excess).....you are facing Facebook Jail or worse, your account being turned into a business account. Your account can and will be changed from a personal profile to a business page. This can happen overnight with no warning! The reason for this is your personal profile has guidelines too, and it is not allowed to promote as a business. Personal Facebook pages are not allowed to act as a business. Facebook see's these contest and promotion posts you share...as conducting business.

Limit what you share....Think twice...because it can affect your personal account. Especially for contest lovers.

If you don't have other social accounts you use for contest's and promotions...this is the time to start making them, as many bloggers and brands are moving away from Facebook.

Carolyn Wilman aka Contest Queen explains this in great detail...Here in an article Facebook is Penalizing Your Followers
